HMPCA Flash Update (May 14th, 2015): Safe routes to Aden for aid shipments

To all international aid agencies who are facing difficulties in safely delivering shipments to Aden governorate. At this time, there are three viable options:

• 1.) Deliver shipments by sea to the refinery port in Al Buraiqeh district of Aden 
• Currently, under the control of the Southern Resistance
• 2.) Follow the logistics of the Qatari and Kuwaiti Red Crescent
• 2.) Hadramaut, via by sea (secure ports) or by ground (from Saudi Arabia/Oman) 
• HMPCA will then be able to take over the logistics from there. 
• And this is possible: "A commercial ship, chartered by a private citizen, took off from the port of Mukalla (Hadramaut Governorate) and arrived in Al Buraiqa port in Aden, carrying humanitarian supplies including food and NFIs (OCHA, Situation Report No. 2, May 14th 2015).

But not through the ICRC! The reason being that the team in Aden have been unreliable in their effort to deliver relief (supplies and medicine from warehouses) to the the public facilities in Aden.

هناك قوارب توصل لنا مساعدات منجبوتي مباشرة. عن طريق ميناء المصافي وهو في أيدي المقاومه. يمكنهم التوصيل إلينا عن طريقهم. وكذالك عن طريق الهلال الأحمر القطري او الهلال الأحمر الكويتي. ولكن ليس عن طريق الصليب الأحمر نهائيا لا يقومون ولا يرغبون في توصيل اي مساعده الى عدن ولايرغبون في العمل في عدن بشكل متحيز جداً وواضح وفهم حتى اليوم اشتغلوا خمسة ايام فقط ثم توقفوا عن العمل نهائيا بحجة البحث عن مكان امن رغم كل الأماكن اللتي عرضناها عليهم ورغم طلباتنا اليهم ان ينظموا للعمل معنا في اي مستشفى او مجمع او مركز صحي يرغبون فيه. عندنا انطباع ان ممثل الامم المتحده في عدن حوثي ومنسق معهم
