HMPCA Flash Update (June 27, 2015): Key points from our two meeting in Aden (27 June 2015)

Today, we had two meetings to discuss the latest developments in our campaign against the malaria and Dengue fever epidemic. (Flash Update, 12 June 2015)

First meeting: discussed our preventative intervention efforts specifically against malaria

• we met with representatives from International Medical Corps (IMC), including stakeholders from Aden and Lahj. 
• We agreed to continue our campaign in the beseiged districts and to coordinate with the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) in order to target the areas that have been difficult for us to reach,  notably the Aden districts: Khormaksar, At Twahi, Crater,  and Al-Mualla. Second meeting: discussed our preventative intervention efforts against Dengue fever

• Dr. Al-Kahder Alsewar, who represents the World Health Organizations (WHO) invited us to the meeting.
• We listened to Dr. Fwaad Hassan, the head of the Qatari Red Crescent mission in Yemen, who presented on the effective approaches for its prevention and treatment. 
• We agreed to organize a specialized team who will prepare an emergency treatment and prevention program, which will include: implementation of a standard protocol for effective treatment and diagnosis of Dengue fever across all active health facilities; promoting public health preventative education; and vector control that include: insecticide spray and drying wet areas that promote outbreaks).
• Other stakeholders who attended, include: 
• UNICEF (including Dr. Jamila)
• IMC
• Qatari Red Crescent
• International Rescue Committee (IRC) 
• Head of the malaria control project in Lahj (Dr. Abdullah Ali Saleh) and Aden (Dr. Arif Ahmed Ali)
• Director of Aden Epidemiological Surveillance Office
• We agreed to all  meet tomorrow in order to organize a work schedule and determine an official  start date; we call on anyone who can help us to join. 

Lastly, we have begun distributing the new shipment of medicine that was recently delivered by UAE Red Crescent.

 اليوم كان لنا لقاء مع الأخوة في مشروع مكافحة الملاريا عدن ولحج والأخوة في منظمة الاطباء الدوليهIMC. لمناقشة المستجدات في حملة مكافحة الملاريا في جميع المديريات وتم الاتفاق على مواصلة الحملة ابتدأ من يوم غد في جميع المناطق المستهدفة وإمكانية التنسيق مع الصليب الاحمر الدولي للدخول الى المناطق اللتي لم نصل اليها في خورمكسر وعدن كريتر والمعلا والقلوعه والتواهي.

واليوم كان لنا لقاء اخر لمناقشة حملة مكافحة حمى الظنك بدعوة من الدكتور الخظر لصور وبحظور ممثل منظمة الصحة العالميه د. ايمان وممثل اليونيسف د. جميله وممثل الهلال الاحمر القطري وممثليين عن منظمة الاطباء الدوليه ومنظمة الانقاذ الدولية ومدير مشروع مكافحة الملاريا لحج د. عبدالله ومدير مشروع مكافحة الملاريا عدن د. عارف ومشرف مكافحة حمى الظنك عدن د. الدوبحي ومدير مشروع الرصد الوبائي عدن د. نصر والأستاذ محمد موسى مدير عام صحة البيئة عدن ود.محمد بايعشوت والدكتور مهيب عوض ود. عبدالرب مدير مجمع حاشد ود. نبيل اختصاصي حميات وآخرين 
واستمعنا الى عرض موجزء عن كيفية مكافحة وعلاج حمى الظنك من قبل د. فواد حسان رئيس بعثة الهلال الاحمر القطري وتم الاتفاق على تشكيل فريق عمل من المختصين لإعداد برنامج طارئ لمكافحة حمئ الظنك. ويشمل دورات تدريبيه للكادر الطبي والصحي وحملة توعيه نوعيه  مع حملة إعلامية شاملة. ونزول الى المجمعات والمستشفيات الخاصه والعامة للتوعيه والتأكد من سلامة التشخيص والعلاج. وحملة نظافه ورش وتجفيف منابع العدوى. وتم تحديد اللقاء غداً لتحديد جدول العمل وموعد البدء بالحملة. ووجهة الدعوة الى كل الجهات الداعمة للمشاركه معنا في هذه الحملة.

واليوم انتهينا من جرا الدفعة الجديدة من أدوية الهلال الاحمر الإماراتي  وبدأنا توزيعها.
