There is a sign of an undetermined etiology of a lethal disease in Aden governorate, which has been more pronounced in Crater district (See Google map). Symptoms have been severe fever followed by death in 24 hours. Is it malaria? Some cases are positive. Is it Dengue fever? Some are also positive. Is it Ebola or Coronavirus? We have no labs, equipments, or the means to make such diagnosis. Unfortunately, there currently is no international agency to help in this matter and residents in Aden are panicking. Today, we lost one of our collagus in Crater, Dr. Ahmed Jamil, and his colleague who was treating him is now symptomatic with acute fever (most likely he is infected as well). Physicians and the residents have fled the Crater district.
The health situation in Aden is disastrous. The hospitals have become congested with patients who present with acute fever of unknown etiology. And people are dying from Dengue fever and typhoid. There is simply no beds available to admit any patients with acute symptoms of infection or causalities secondary to the ongoing conflict.
No foreign physicians have arrived to help us in Aden and the relief we receive has been both intermittent and limited. There is no mobile clinics or teams from international relief agencies to effectively evaluate and assist in combatting the current endemic infectious diseases which plaques Aden.
Today, the International Organization for Migration (IOM) announced that they will terminate their contract with Yemeni physicians in Aden, which saddens us because they have been helping us tremendously. At this critical time, we need more help and not less.There is limited food, no electricity, no water, and salaries or any incentives to offer to our health workers. For the last month, we have been prevented from pursuing any medical evacuation for wounded and sick patients who need treatment internationally. As such, the province of Aden remains under siege.
The international relief agencies remain in Sana’a even though Aden was announced as a temporary capital (where the ministries and foreign embassies have relocated to). No banks are open in Aden and all transactions occur only in #Sana’a (which offer no transactions to Aden). The relief agencies from the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) provide their best efforts in alleviating the health crisis in Aden, but they face many obstacles in the process. And we received a letter of formal recognition by President Hadi for our work and continuous efforts to alleviate Aden, Lahj, Abyan, and Al Dhale’e governorates.
The health crisis in Aden is out of our control and the medical community there are screaming for the world to help. The Arab world are just watching while the Western World does not even bother to watch.

اليوم هناك مؤشرات عن وجود وباء فتاك يفتك بالناس. ارتفع مستوئ الوفيات الى حد مذهل في عدن وفي مدينة كريتر بالذات. حمى مجهولة تصيب الناس خلال اربعه وعشرين ساعة نفقد المريض. هل هو ملاريا؟ بعض الحالات موجبه. هل هو حمى الظنك ، بعض الحالات موجبه. هل هو ايبولا؟؟؟. كرونا؟؟. امكانياتنا شحيحة لا نتستطيع التشخيص. لا احد من المنظمات ألدوليه يساعدنا. الناس في رعب شديد. اليوم فقدنا احد الاطباء الزملاء في كريتر نتيجة حمئ مجهولة د. احمد جميل الف رحمة عليه. وزميله الذي كان يعالجه مصاب الان بالحمى. الاطباء بدأوا يغادرون كريتر والأهالي ايظاً. الوضع كارثي. المستشفيات مكتضه بمرضى الحميات لم نعد نجد سرير فاضي على الإطلاق لا لمرضى الحمئ ولا للجرحى من الجبهات. غرف الإنعاش مكتضه لا سرير احتياط. الوضع خرج عن السيطرة. أرجوك انقل هذا الامر لجميع المنظمات ألدوليه بأسرع وقت ممكن. د. عبدالناصر الوالي
6/14/15, 11:53:04 PM: Dr. AbdulNasser Alwali: عزيزي د. محمد والغالي عمران. رمضان. كريم. سبحان الله. عدن تشهد هذه الايام تكاتف ملحمي فريد من نوعه. اخوة ومحبة. تعاون وايثار. مودة وتراحم. رغم شدة الحصار ورعب القصف العشوائي. وهول الدمار المحيط. تصورا ايها الأحبة لم يصل الى عدن ولا اي طبيب عربي او اجنبي. ولم يسمحوا لنا بإخلاء اي جريح او مريض منذ اكثر من شهر. لم يصلنا اي مستشفى ميداني ولا فريق رصد دولي للأوبئة والأمراض المعدية. الناس تموت من الظنك والتيفود. الغذاء شحيح والكهرباء معدومه ولا مياة. لا رواتب ولا حوافز للعاملين الصحيين. المنظمات العالميه مركزها في صنعاء مع ان عدن قد أعلنت عاصمة موقته وانتقلت اليها جميع الوزارات والسفارات. اغاثة محدودة متقطعة ولا تفي باحتياجات الناس والعالم الاسلامي والعربي يراقب فقط اما الغربي فلا اعتقد حتى أنة يراقب .منظمات دول مجلس التعاون تبذل جهود جبارة ولكنها تصتدم بعراقيل كبيره. اليوم منظمة الهجرة ألدوليه(Iom) ابلغتنا بانهم سينهون التعاقد مع أطبائهم اليمنيين في عدن؟؟ في وقت هم يقدمون لنا خدمات كبيرة جداً جداًارجوك انقل لهم رسالتي هذه ( هذا وقت نحن نحتاج الى مزيد من الدعم منهم وليس سحب كوادرهم). هذا لا يعني ان لا احد يساعد او يحاول المساعدة ولكن حجم الكارثه كبير فوق الخيال وحجم الحصار اكبر. تخيل لا يوجد اي بنك في عدن مفتوح ولايسمح بتحويل اي مبالغ ماليه من الخارج الا الى صنعاء. ومن صنعاء لا يحول شيئ. وفي الأخير أبشركم ايها العزيزان باننا كلجنة طبية شعبية عليا قد تلقينا رسالة شكر وتقدير من رئيس الجمهورية على الجهود اللتي نبذلها لخدمة الناس وأنتم بالطبع جزء منا.
